While sailing in 2018, we found a rubber duck hidden on the Allure of the Seas. It had a tag with the name of some group on the bookface for people who hide ducks on cruise ships. We thought the idea was fun, but didn't think it should be necessary to sell your digital soul to a corporation with questionable ethics to play it, so we built this website instead. No ads, no trackers, none of that garbage that has ruined the modern internet. Just goofy plastic ducks hidden on boats.
How can I find a duck?
We hide several ducks each day of the cruise, and they can be in any public space of the ship. Your safety is way more important than a duck hunt, so you won't find any of our ducks in an area that would be dangerous to retrieve, cost extra money to enter (such as a specialty restaurant), or earn you a not-so-friendly visit from ship security. You won't find a duck inside any area labeled "Crew Only", in bathrooms, or inside of anyone's cabin (unless they discovered it and want to keep it).
I found one of your ducks, what do I do with it?
Each duck should have a tag with a QR code you can scan attached to it. If you scan that, it'll take you to a page where you can let us know you found it and add it to the history for that particular duck. If you're the first person to report they found the duck, your discovery will unlock it, making the name and photo visible to anyone who visits the Cruise Ship Duck Hunt.
If your duck is missing its tag, there should be a 6-digit code written on the bottom. Replace the # signs in this URL with your code:
https://www.duckhunt.boats/found/######
Can I keep the duck I found?
Sure, any duck you find is yours to do whatever you like with. If you want to keep it, please feel free. Or if you'd like to hide it again yourself for someone else to discover, that's awesome too. We're curious to see how many times our ducks are discovered.
I have some other question
You can send us an email and we'll try our best to answer it.
